Dear friends,
We are thrilled to welcome you to the Nelliyampathy Awareness Bicycle Rally, proudly organized by Fort Pedallers Palakkad (FPP) in association with the Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department on 26.04.2025 Saturday. This rally is not just a cycling event—it's a movement to raise awareness about the conservation of soil, air, forests, wildlife, and other vital natural resources with the slogan " LIVING ON THE EDGE - Our Soil and Water Deserve the Best".Â
Rally Details:
Route: Pothundy Forest Checkpost to Pulayampara (Govt Orange Farm) and back to Pothundy via Kaikatti. A scenic yet challenging 50 km ride (to and fro) through forest terrain.
( The organizers reserves the right to alter the route, based on traffic and road conditions on the event day).
Start point : Forest Checkpost, Pothundy
Middle point: Govt. Orange Farm, Pulayampara
End point: Forest Checkpost, Pothundy
Event Date: Saturday, 26th April 2025Â
Elevation: Approximately 1200 meters above sea level
Route Type: Uphill and eco-sensitive
Ride Duration : 8 AM to 5 PM (All riders to ensure that they exit the Forest Checkpost at Pothundy before 5 pm.)
Registration Fees : ₹450/- ( Rupees Four hundred and fifty only) (special discount for FPP Prime members)
 It includes:
 - Certificate, emergency technical support (cost of spares excluded), hydration support at fixed locations, refreshment kit at starting point and standard lunch at Pulayampara.
Eligibility: All participants must be above 18 years’ of age.
All finishers get the completion certificate if they finish the ride, and will be distributed at the End point.
This is a self supported event. However minimum tech support can be provided on request, subject to availability of technicians.
The selection/elimination of riders among the registrants will be subject to fitness evaluation based on recent 2 months’ rides. (Decision in this regard by the Organising Committee will be final and incase of elimination of any rider, his/her registration fee alone will be refunded).
 Event Rules and Regulations:
1. Physical Fitness:
This is a physically demanding route. Please ensure you are adequately fit and have trained for uphill cycling. Consult your physician if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
Personal support vehicles are not allowed to tag or ride along with riders. They have to be stationed at any of the prescribed control points. Any support during the ride for a rider must be with the permission of ride officials.
2. Bicycle Condition:
Ensure your bicycle is in excellent working condition.
Check brakes, gears, tire pressure, and chain.
Carry essential tools, a spare tube, and a pump.
3. Safety Gear:
Helmets are mandatory.
Use gloves, knee and elbow guards if needed.
Use front and back dimmer lights/reflectors on the vehicle.
Carry a first aid kit and personal medications.
4. Hydration & Nutrition:
Bring sufficient water (preferably in reusable bottles).
Pack energy bars or light snacks to keep your energy up.
*Avoid littering—carry all waste back with you.*
5. Environmental Responsibility:
This is an eco-awareness rally—respect the forest and its wildlife.
Do not disturb flora or fauna.
Stick to the designated path and avoid loud noises.
The use of loud music, Bluetooth speakers, headsets, or earbuds is strictly prohibited, as your full attention is essential for ensuring both your safety and that of the wildlife.
6. Emergency Contacts:
Stay connected with your assigned group leaders. Emergency technical support will be available along the route.
7. Start Time & Assembly:
The ride will start at 8.00am sharp from Forest Check Post, Pothundy. Please be punctual and fully prepared. Report at the starting point ie. Pothundy Forest Check Post well before the flag off time. Riders reporting after 8.00 am will not be allowed to join the Rally.Â

Terms:
I accept the following TERMS AND CONDITIONS for participating in the Nelliyampathy Group Awareness Bicycle Rally viz.
LIVING ON THE EDGE - Our Soil and Water Deserve the Best":
1. I am 18 years or above legal age
2. I have read and agree to abide by the Event Rules and Regulations.
3. I agree to comply with the traffic and road laws and regulations of India.
4. I fully understand and agree that I am entering this event entirely at my own risk and accept without exception full and complete liability for all and any risks and will not hold responsible nor make claims against FPP, any of the participants or organizer, its committee members, agents or servants for any loss, damage or injury however caused in relation to my participation in this event.
5. I understand and fully accept the rights of the Event Officials to take decisions based on perceived risk to health and safety and to stop any rider from continuing.
6. I understand that when I am riding a bicycle, I am required to wear a helmet, use rear blinkers, use front light, wear a reflective vest at all times during the event.
7. I understand that IÂ am required to comply with all the safety requirements set out in the event Rules and to follow the guidelines of the Organisers and Officials of Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department.
8. Participation in the Event is subject to Approval from FPP after Payment of Registration fees. I understand that FPP reserves the right to refuse or cancel my registration and will refund the registration fees after deductions of processing charges, if any.
9. I agree to sign the waiver form and submit the required information and documents at the time of Pre-event Registration prior to the event.
10. I understand that any attempt at cheating (as determined by the event officials) if proven, will result in immediate disqualification.
11. I agree to make the Payment of Registration fees as prescribed by the organizers.
12. I understand that my Participation will be cancelled without refund for non completion of mandatory Pre event Registration formalities, equipment inspection or non attendance of pre-event briefing at the appointed time.
13. I understand that FPP reserves the right to cancel or adjourn the event due to low participation.Â
14.I understand that the organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of bicycle or any other properties or any personal loss incurred by accident to the rider or third party.  I agree to take insurance with sufficient coverage for life, personal accident and third party liability.
15. No refund for cancellation after 23rd April 2025.
16. All participants accept unconditionally, all responsibility for their own health with respect to any and all situations!
17. All participants agree to abide by health norms as directed by the pertinent authorities at all times during.
18. I agree that all decisions taken by the event organizers viz. Fort Pedallers Palakkad (FPP) will be final in all matters pertaining to this event.
